Peter Nitschke

Peter NitschkePeter's forestry career began in 1983 as a statistician in J. D. Irving's tree improvement program in Sussex, New Brunswick. In 1989 he moved to Truro, Nova Scotia to take on the role of Manager of the Department of Lands and Forests’ Tree Breeding Centre and run the province's tree improvement cooperative. He then joined the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources in Sault Ste. Marie as Tree Improvement Coordinator and Provincial Silviculturist.

Svetlana Zeran

Since graduating from Lakehead University with an Honours Bachelor of Science in Forestry in 2015 she has worked for the non-profit sector, government (MNRF) and private industry, taking her across Northern Ontario.

Gord Brown

Gord BrownGord was born and raised in Bancroft, and his family has deep roots in the local forestry scene. His father Robert and uncle Jim owned and operated a water-powered sawmill in L’Amable, just south of Bancroft, until 1960. After high school, Gord spent a short period of time working for General Motors in Oshawa, but most of his time has been spent in the bush.

Tyler Hinze

Tyler HinzeTyler Hinze is a third generation logger who chose to continue in the study of sustainable forest management as a forestry technician. He started in the woods at a very young age cutting firewood, then falling trees and eventually logging within a ommercial harvest operation. In 2006 he graduated at Sir Sandford Fleming as a Forestry Technician, then immediately became an Ontario Certified Tree Marker.

Kelsey Hack

Kelsey VanceKelsey is local to the Bancroft area; she grew up here and graduated from the local high school. Kelsey left Bancroft in 2013 to attend Sir Sandford Fleming College and in 2016 graduated with an advanced diploma in Environmental Technology.She completed her work placement at BMFC and was promptly hired, joining the staff in the summer of 2016. Kelsey is busy learning all those things they don’t teach you in school as she grows into the role of the Office Manager and GIS Technician. Kelsey has a passion for the outdoors and loves being part of the local logging community.
